Williams Racing are nine-time Constructors’ Champions based in Grove, England, running Mercedes power units and fielding Alexander Albon (car #23) and Carlos Sainz (car #55) in 2026. Founded by Sir Frank Williams and Patrick Head in 1977, the team has 114 race victories. Under Dorilton Capital ownership since 2020, Williams has been methodically rebuilding from their Oxfordshire headquarters.

For 2026, Williams field Alexander Albon and Carlos Sainz. Sainz, a race winner with intimate knowledge of front-running operations from his years at Ferrari, brings development expertise and the ability to extract maximum performance under pressure. Albon provides continuity, a deep understanding of the Williams engineering culture, and proven skill in dragging uncompetitive cars to points finishes. Together, they form a driver lineup that exceeds what most midfield teams can offer.

Williams’ history reads like a chronicle of F1’s golden age. Nigel Mansell, Alain Prost, Ayrton Senna, Damon Hill, Jacques Villeneuve, and Nelson Piquet all drove for the team during their championship years. The Williams FW14B of 1992, with its active suspension and traction control, remains one of the most technologically advanced cars ever to race in Formula 1. The team’s nine constructors’ titles place them third on the all-time list behind Ferrari and McLaren.

Williams continue to use Mercedes power units in 2026, giving them access to proven, competitive technology while they focus investment on chassis and aerodynamic performance. The Grove factory has seen substantial upgrades, including a new wind tunnel and expanded simulation capability. The 2026 regulation change represents their best opportunity in over a decade to return to the sharp end of the grid.

Williams are based in Grove, United Kingdom. The British Grand Prix at Silverstone in July serves as their home race, with the sprint format providing extra action across the weekend and a 15:00 BST Sunday start perfectly timed for British fans. Check UK time for all session times throughout the 2026 season.
